So much has happened since I last posted. So here is a recap, with photos!
We all made it! Kellan had a wonderful first day of Kindergarten and he loves his teacher and his classmates. He is learning so much already. We discovered a few weeks in, that he has behavior colors to tell him to keep on doing what he is doing (green), slow down, you need to correct your behavior (yellow), stop, talk with your teacher something is really wrong (red), and lastly, you went above and beyond today (blue). Kellan was on yellow a few times his first two weeks and he finally came home one day and said "Mom, I was so good today, I got moved to the Green Bucket." That's when I said, "Kellan, what is the Green Bucket?" Needless to say, we had a little discussion about staying on Green and aiming for Blue.
Anyway, he loves school and here are some pics of his first day.
He couldn't wait to give his teacher a hug goodbye!
We had the best time boating with our dear friends, the Flippens. They were so sweet to take us out on Horsetooth Lake and show us a great time. The kids loved the tube and Brian enjoyed hanging in there for as long as possible until the rope snapped...made for a good bruise on his shoulder.
Our sweet Elias has had quite a busy month. He now has two teeth on his bottom gums and two more that are about to break through up top. He has had a terrible cough and some wheezing along with it that have caused him to have to be on an inhaler and some steroids. He has his nine month visit (granted, he is ten months) tomorrow and we will see what the doctor has to say about all of this coughing business. He still isn't crawling, but he loves sitting independently and bouncing in his saucer. He also loves to hear himself make all sorts of noises and depending on the time of day, we enjoy it too.
We have loved our summer evenings together, although they are few and far between, we fill them with fun. One of our favorite things to do is grill on our back porch and of course, eat tons of corn on the cob.
Ella had her first day of Preschool and she loves her teacher, Mrs. Martinez. Mrs. Martinez was Kellan's preschool teacher and we are all thrilled for Ella because Mrs. Martinez is wonderful!
