Adoption Update!

People, you have no idea how much I just want to scream out our news and our praises and tell you all about what's going on with our adoption right now! But, again we are faced with confidentiality requirements so I have to be limited in what I can say. But, I have got such big news to share with you all and I just can't hold it in anymore, so here is my confidential news flash.

This morning we officially accepted our referrals for our boys! It's sort of like finding out you are pregnant for the first time. Your heart races, you don't exactly know how to describe your emotions, you wonder who to call first, and you simply stand in amazement, knowing that God has planned this from the beginning, before you ever even imagined it, He knew. He knew these boys would come home to us!

So, we are EXPECTING AGAIN! Two brothers to add to our bunch, and I am so excited I can hardly stand it. Please join us in our excitement and rejoicing and know that we will be able to tell you all about these precious, soon to be Pettit's, in the coming weeks.

Let me share a few miracles with you too.

We moved here, to Oregon and we had no connections at all and you wouldn't believe all of the ways God is connecting us.

First, we found a church that we love called Solid Rock, www.ajesuschurch.org And we found a small group through our church that meets just a few minutes from where we live.

Then we were connected with a family here in Oregon that has adopted from Ethiopia recently and when we were talking with them for the first time about our adoption, they told us that they have already met one of our sons! They hosted him when he was here touring with the His Little Feet choir! How amazing is that?

Then we met with our case worker this week and told her about the church that we found and she gasped and said, "the pastor there adopted from our organization and worked with me too!" And, guess where they adopted from? Ethiopia! Amazing!

You may think, "Small world" or "what a coincidence " but I think, "What a God? What an amazing, intimate, loving God!"

And, for an estimated timeline, here you go:

We should have a court date in Ethiopia sometime in February so we will travel there for the first time then.

Once we return home, we should have an Embassy appointment in Ethiopia within 6-8 weeks, so we will travel again to Ethiopia and bring our boys back.

So, if all goes well, we will have our boys home sometime between March and May of 2013.

We appreciate your prayers :)
