"These ARE my friends!"

Sorry for the lapse in blog entries! I guess I see this blog as more of a journal for myself than anything else...so, I am sorry to myself. I am not great about righting things done and so this is great for me.

So, its been a long couple of weeks and I want to start by thanking those of you who were praying as I made an emotional trip to California last weekend...once again, God is good! I think that is my theme lately, because He truly is. My mom and I had some much needed time of connecting and I was kept safe the whole time. I can't go into much detail, but, please know how much I appreciate your thoughts and prayers! My mom is doing as good as can be expected and hopefully time and prayer will begin to heal her in ways none of us can.

Onto some funny stories. Kellan, Ella and I have been spending a lot of time at the park lately. Its just one house away from ours, so we tend to make it over there at least five times a week. The other day when we got to the park there were about nine kids ages 9-11 playing a game of tag on the play ground, so Kellan started laughing and running around with them (not really with them, more like around them). He started noticing that they weren't really including him and that they were getting in the way of the slide, and I could tell he was getting a little hurt. So, I walked over to him and explained..."Kellan, these kids are bigger than you and so it is hard for them to include you because of how little you are." And our conversation went like this...

Kellan: "but I am bigger."
Me: "I know you are bigger than Ella, you are bigger than Daisy, you are even bigger than this tree, but you aren't as big as those kids."
Kellan: "But these ARE my friends!" (that was him yelling)
Me: "Ok, well go and play with them then."

So, I left it at that, I figured if they didn't want him around they would leave. They moved their game to the field of grass by the play ground and Kellan just kept inviting himself wherever they went. It was rather sweet! If only all of us could walk up to anyone and claim them as friends.

Ella is beginning to answer questions correctly more often. It used to be that the only response she would give to a question was "no." She is now saying "yes" or "ssss."

Brian and I are loving the fact that summer is almost here. This means more face time! He will only have one class this summer for four weeks and then he will be done for a few months. I can't wait to see more of him. Most of the time he is either working, at school or studying, so I am just anxious for summer.

Congratulations to Julie and Jaimee on the births of their two little boys! You girls did great!
